“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way its treats it’s children” Nelson Mandela
Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children from abuse and maltreatment, preventing harm to children’s health or development. Ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and every child has the right to be safe.
All staff in our Academy maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here’. This helps to ensure that we provide a safe environment for children and young people to learn in school, and that we identify children and young people who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, and take appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at home and in school.
